Loni Anderson — 1945

Who could ever forget the lovely receptionist Jennifer Marlowe in the TV sitcom WKRP in Cincinnati?  The beloved role of Loni Anderson on the CBS sitcom had won her several award nominations. She was compared to actresses of the past like Marilyn Monroe and Jayne Mansfield, which led to her star in a made-for-TV movie about the latter’s life story.

She starred in films such as All Dogs Go to HeavenThe Lonely Guy, and Stroker Ace.  Aside from her career, Loni is most famous for being the woman who caught actor Burt Reynolds’ heart. Sadly, their relationship ended in divorce. She is now happily living with her husband Bob Flick, one of the founders of ‘The Brothers Four’, a folk band.

Barbara Eden – 1931

Barbara Eden became a common name in the industry due to her role in I Dream Of Jeannie. From then onwards, Barbara pursued acting mostly instead of following her dream to become a singer. When Dolores Hart entered the acting industry, people were stunned by her beauty and they believed that they had found the next Hollywood star. From 1957 to 1963, Hart appeared in 10 movies—her first one being Loving You with Elvis Presley. She later played alongside other acclaimed actors as well, such as Montgomery Cliff and George Hamilton.

She has an impressive collection of films including The Plunderers, Sail of a Crooked Ship, Wild Is The Wind, and Come Fly With Me, to boast of. She was doing quite well for herself. Philip Michael Thomas shot to fame with the show Miami Vice, playing the character Ricardo Tubb with great success. He went on to play roles in numerous films in movies and television. His first attention-grabbing role was Coonskin. Thomas also played a role in the Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and the Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories. One of the most striking bad guys of vintage action flicks has proved his worth portraying ethical characters in the films like Shootfighter 1 and 2. He also worked with legendary actors Jean-Claude Van Damme and Bruce Lee to show off an impressive portfolio.

Connie Stevens – 1938

Richard Keith — 1950

We loved Richard in I Love Lucy. He made his debut as a child star, playing the role of Little Ricky on the show. The character is still as popular as it used to be back in those days. Many are not aware of the fact that Richard Keith is not his original name. His last name is Thibodeaux.

Since it was tough for Americans to pronounce it, Richard changed it to take up a more easy-to-pronounce surname. Another interesting fact is that he is probably the only surviving member of the regular cast from the legendary show.

Many, in fact, still feel nostalgic whenever the name of the show crops up. Richard indeed represents a legacy, which is tough to carry forward for anyone else. We will always be fond of Little Ricky and hope that he continues to live a healthy life.

Alan Alda – 1936

Alan Alda dons many hats. He is a successful director, author, actor, comedian, and screenwriter. And he has been entertaining his fans for over six and a half decades now. Alda has added six Emmy Awards in his kitty!  His role as Hawkeye Pierce in the show MASH was also greatly appreciated. You may have seen him in the critically-acclaimed 2019’s Marriage Story.

Mr. T – 1952

Even seen a ‘bad-guy persona’? Then you missed out on the 80s favorite- Mr. T. A former wrestler, Lawrence Tureaud, ventured into films later on and did great as an actor in TV series like The A-Team and the 1982 film Rocky III, where he performed as a boxer Clubber, Lang.

His role as ‘B. A. Baracus’ in The A-Team earned him accolades galore. Even in Rocky III, his dialogue “I pity the fool” was used and reused in several titles like I Pity The Fool reality show in 2006! He has been famous for his trademark hairstyle that was largely influenced by Mandinka fighters in West Africa.

Mr. T had dealt with severe health issues post-1995. He compiled his experiences in a book titled “Cancer Ain’t For No Wimp”s. Very recently, in 2017, the 68-year old had participated in “Dancing With the Stars”, and we’re glad he doesn’t merely rest on his savings but prefers staying active.

Ernest Lee Thomas – 1949

It was his role as Roger “Raj” Thomas in What’s Happening, a sitcom on ABC, and the 1980s syndicated sequel, What’s Happening Now!!, that helped Ernest Lee to escalate to great heights as an actor. The recurring role called Mr. Omar on Everybody Hates Chris was another notable add-on.

The 70-year old American actor started in 1974, and since then, his journey in the entertainment industry has been going great guns.  Thomas was in few other TV series and sitcoms that also became favorites over the years, like Soul Food, The Steve Harvey Show, The Parent’ Hood, All About the Andersons, and most recently, Just Jordan.
